Fourth of July Promotions to Celebrate With in Your Coffeehouse!

There is no bigger celebration in summer than the annual celebration of America’s independence, July 4^th. Fireworks, sparklers, red, white and blue can be found in abundance, during the festivities. Be sure to celebrate this holiday with your customers by offering some patriotic promotions! Here at Dilworth Coffee we have come up with a few ideas to promote your independently owned shop during this Independence Day Holiday!

The 4^th of July is not just about remembering the nation’s freedom, but as well as our own. As many of our customers are independent, local businesses, we suggest you use this holiday to shine a little light onto yourself. Remind your customers that by supporting independent shops, they are supporting small business, and the local economy. Have an “Independent Independence Day” celebration, where you not only recognize our country, but one of the things that make it great, local business. Your specialty shop’s independence and freedom is something that makes your business standout, just like America!

Create a specialty beverage just for the week of July 4^th. What about an Iced Americano? Traditional Americanos are 1/3 espresso and 2/3 of hot water, so it’s an easy drink to turn iced. Just chill the espresso and use cool water instead of hot! Frozen Lemonade is a great 4^th of July beverage, especially if it’s flavored with strawberries or blueberries to make it “red, yellow and blue”. You can even go so far to have a 4^th of July whipped cream to top all your specialty coffee beverages with. Just mix red and blue food color stripes into your whipped cream, or consider flavoring it with berries. All you need is 3oz of strawberry or blueberry syrup, ½ a pint of heavy whipping cream and your whipped cream canister.

Since it’s the 4^th you can create special reward cards to hand out, that day alone. 3 drink purchases in the next 2 weeks will get the card holder a free 4^th! You can specify which drinks you would like included in this promotion or let them choose from your entire menu, it’s a celebration and great way to award customers!

Flavored lemonade and teas are big hits during the blistering months of summer. Set up a lemonade or tea bar the week of the 4^th and let customers create their own flavored drinks. Who knows, maybe someone will create your next menu item! This will also give many customers an introduction into flavored iced drinks, and let them know they can purchase them from your shop.

Consider doing a 2 for $4 promotion on the 4^th! You can choose any deal. We suggest 2 medium Americanos for $4, or 2 small smoothies for $4. “$4 Beverages on the 4^th” is a fun promotion to get people to share your drinks with their friends or family members, and introduce your shop to more customers! If you sell cookies or other baked items, this is another great time to use this promotion, a baked good with a drip coffee for $4 dollars on the 4^th.

If your town has a 4^th of July parade, sponsor a float with your baristas riding on it! Make sure your shop’s name is prominent, so you can get the advertising. This is something fun for your employees and the community. Let the crowd know about your great beverages with coupons to hand out, promotional cups, candy and more. Get creative!
